Safia Hashmi's three-month-old baby girl was starving for two days on 8 May at 8:45 pm on May 31, traveling from Belgaum (Karnataka) to Gorakhpur. The child's parents were feeding him by dipping a biscuit in water. He asked for milk for the baby at several stations, but nowhere did he get help. When the train reached Bhopal, Safiya requested the RPF jawan for milk for the girl child. Inder Singh put a packet of milk on the train running from the station to the mother and could help the hungry girl for two days.
